Irwindale Educational Foundation scholarship applications are now available.  Deadline for submission is June 24 @ 5 pm.   Scholarships are available for Irwindale residents AND Irwindale businesses that are Irwindale Chamber members. See scholarship policy and application for full details.

The Irwindale Educational Foundation's 11th Annual BBQ Fundraiser will be held on the spacious grounds of MillerCoors on July 16, 2010.  The net proceeds of the event along with some generous donations will be used to award over multiple scholarships for the 2010/2011 academic year.  Tickets are on sale now at the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce.  For details see the event flyer.  Thank you for your commitment to education in the Irwindale community!  
 
The Irwindale Educational Foundation is a 501-C3, non profit organization.  The Foundation's scholarships are focused on assisting students with career development through continuing education at colleges, universities and vocational schools.  Contributions are tax deductable and may be sent to P.O. As businesses scramble to figure out what the new health care policy will mean to them, the U.S. Chamber has provided three new resources on complying with the new law; two by U.S. Chamber staff and one by an outside law firm. 

 AQMD Special Programs!

AQMD’s new ‘Permit Application Penalty Holiday’ is designed to provide businesses a temporary opportunity to obtain all needed air quality permits without incurring late fees or violations if they take the necessary steps to bring their business into compliance. The program began February 5 and will continue through August 4, 2010.

 AQMD calls for nominations for the 22nd Annual Clean Air Awards
 Do you know a clean air hero?  If so, nominate that individual or business for a Clean Air Award.  AQMD’s Clean Air Awards honor those who have made a significant contribution to cleaner air through innovation, leadership and personal environmental commitment.  Deadline for entries is July 9, 2010.

The California Air Resources Board recently named the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce as  Organization of the Year!  This award was in recognition of the Chamber's environmental efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and encouragement of local businesses to Go Green.   Want to find out more or be more involved?  Join the Environmental Committee: meetings are 1st Wednesday at noon at  the Chamber offices.
